Jo Jardine, Ashley Blinds’ energetic Sales & Marketing Director, recently hooked up with Laura from Dorset Workplace Experiences (DWE)at The Cowshed in Lytchett Minster. DWE offers career counselling and educational support to young people in the BCP area. As part of this service they reach out to local businesses to help young people get workplace experience and Ashley Blinds are always willing to give opportunities to both students and school-leavers.
Jo to Laura spoke from the perspective of both employer and parent (her son is currently looking for a workplace experience linked to games design/coding) and the importance of providing young people with the opportunity to see the world of work for themselves. She explained how Ashley Blinds are making sure that they can offer work placement experiences and help the next generation get more career opportunities.
As we dive headfirst into the Christmas period, we want to wish all our customers past and present a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year and we hope you all enjoy the festivities.
Our office will close on Wednesday 18 December and will reopen again on Monday 6 January 2025.
Ashley Blinds is now fully booked with all our installations planned in until the end of the year and we’re now looking ahead into January for appointments and fittings.
In the meantime, why not start thinking about your next window shading solution needs with our Winter Sale? We’re offering FREE thermal linings on our fitted curtains through January to help keep you warm and lower your heating bills. Or, thinking further ahead, perhaps start thinking about summer and plan in an awning chat with one of our team ready for the brighter weather.
This year is particularly special for us at Ashley Blinds & Curtains, as we celebrate two important milestones. Not only are we marking our 24th year as an independent, family-run business, but Simon & Jo are also celebrating their own decade at the helm. This journey wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of their remarkable team and the foundation laid by our founders, Martin and Vera.
Ashley Blinds is a family-owned and run business established in 2002 by Martin and Vera
Honouring Our Founders: Martin & Vera
We’re thrilled to share that Martin and Vera, who started Ashley Blinds & Curtains in 2002, are happily enjoying their well-deserved retirement. This year has been especially memorable, as Martin celebrated his 75th birthday and Vera her 70th! They continue to be a source of inspiration for us and are delighted to see the business thriving, thanks to the our team’s continued support.
The Heart of Our Success: Our Team
One of the things we’re most proud of is our strong, diverse team. Our all-female sales and admin teams bring warmth, knowledge, and a personal touch to every customer interaction. Our skilled fitters and installers add their expert craftsmanship, ensuring each project is completed with the utmost care. Every single team member is an essential part of the Ashley Blinds & Curtains experience, embodying the values that Martin and Vera instilled in the business from day one.

Here’s to Many More Years!
As we look to the future, we’re as dedicated as ever to delivering quality, care, and a personal touch in every project. Thank you for supporting Ashley Blinds & Curtains for 24 years, and a heartfelt thank you to those who have been part of the last decade of our journey. We look forward to bringing beautiful transformations to homes and businesses across Dorset for many more years to come.
Ashley Blinds has always been keen to support its local community and has sponsored many local organisations and groups. We have supported one such organisation, Upton in Bloom, for three years now and it was a great honour to be invited to attend their celebration evening in October. Ashley Blinds’ Jo Jardine was presented with the Upton in Bloom Annual Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of our support over the year.
This year Upton in Bloom was awarded Gold in the 2024 Britain in Bloom Awards under the Town category. This is an incredible achievement for the community, reflecting the dedication, hard work and passion of everyone who played a part in beautifying our town. Ashley Blinds is proud to have helped support the organisation and we look forward to assist them in 2025.
Upton in Bloom was also awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2022, which is equivalent to the MBE for voluntary groups. They are a group of friendly and passionate volunteers working together with local community groups and organisations, and the Town Council to enhance the natural environment of the town.
The organisation is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers, both young and old. If you are interested in joining Upton in Bloom, please email them at uptoninbloom@hotmail.co.uk. They would love to hear from you.
