5. Care & Use Requirements

Failure to follow care and usage guidance may invalidate your Product Guarantee.

General

  • Operate products gently
  • Keep free from dust and obstruction
  • Avoid excessive moisture

1. Blinds (Roller, Roman, Vertical, Pleated/Cellular)

  • Operate gently; do not force mechanisms
  • Clean using a soft brush or low suction vacuum
  • Avoid heavy moisture, steam or mould exposure

2. Venetian Blinds (Wood, Aluminium & PVC)

  • Avoid moisture directly onto surfaces
  • Clean with dry cloth only
  • Natural grain variation is normal on wood
  • Dust regularly
  • Do not reach through slats to open window handles
  • PVC Resistant to humidity but can distort from heat or force.

3. Perfect Fit & INTU Blinds

  • Do not pull on the frame
  • Clean frames and channels gently

4. Curtains

  • Regular light clean (vacuum/duster)
  • Some fabrics may require dry cleaning but check with dry cleaners before taking down from hanging space – do not dry clean blackout linings. Ashley Blinds is not responsible for dry cleaner mishaps.
  • Avoid pulling or snagging pleats or headings
  • Keep tracks clear of debris, keep poles dust free – silicone sprayed on a cloth to wipe metal and wood poles helps with smooth operation

5. 100% Wood Shutters

  • Dust with a feather duster – anti static advisable
  • Do not allow water to rest on – wipe off immediately if comes in to contact
  • Do not use chemical cleaners
  • Do not force panels beyond their natural stop point or use tilt slats to open and close panels.

6. Awnings

  • Retract during wind, storms, or heavy rain if no sensor purchased – do periodic test on sensors if battery operated
  • Ensure minimum recommended pitch to prevent water pooling – pitch adjustment service can be organised quarterly at current service fee if required due season sun levels. Call to book in
  • Keep cassette and fabric free of debris – fixed canopy valances not covered under guarantee, removable valances should be removed from awning when not in use for extended periods to preserve lifespan
